Maybe it's just that I'm getting older. I don't know. But I can hardly remember what it feels like to sleep an entire night without waking up more than just a few times.
When I consider my nights, it seems they are just a series of naps - from the time I go to bed until the time I wake up in the morning. The trouble is, I've become so used to this routine, I'm not really sure I feel all that rested during the day's work; I think I am recharged and ready to go, but I really don't have much of a frame of reference.
I guess the good news through it all is I can still fall asleep within a few seconds.
Last night, I thought I'd try an experiment and see if I could count to thirty after laying down on my pillow. I think I made it to eight or nine and then the lights went out. That said, I guess I don't have much to complain about.
